Baggage Moments

“Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments. And the angel said to those who were standing before him, “Remove the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.” And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord was standing by.”
Zechariah 3:1-5 ESV

This morning, after my quiet time, my fears came out of no where. "What if I am not lovable?" "What if I am not good enough?" These are REAL fears I have. All to point to the issue of forgiveness. No where in the Bible does it say, "you must forgive yourself". On the contrary, it says "I have taken your iniquity away from you". If you are anything like me, you might need this reminder. If you are a child of God, you have been forgiven. There is no need to rehash, relive, remind yourself of any past mistakes. You have been forgiven of those.

Now, if you are struggling with "baggage issues"' (which was me, this morning). It is through Christ you are clean. It is through Christ that you have an inheritance. Remember whose you are. Christ has paid for your faults and mistakes, look at them only to remind yourself of God's beautiful, undeserving grace . The past hurt is only to glorify God's redemption in your life.

"Because of your love, my debt is paid, because of your blood, my sins are washed away, now all of my life I freely give, because of your love, because of your love I live.." - Phil Wickham "Because of your love"
