Just Made of Wood

At School, we have started working on a Christmas production since October. So we have had Christmas on our minds for a while now... However, I never made this observation.. When Christ was born he was placed in a wooden feeeding trough in a stable. Something that is used to bring about a necessity that encourages life. Food encourages life.

I am the bread of life.
(John 6:48 ESV)

This is a claim that Christ made shortly after providing sustenance for five thousand people.
How cool is that? Yes, we may not know for sure where he was born, or where he was placed or even that a feeding trough was made out of wood, but to think that God could in fact use a "tool of life"

Now, here's the cool part..

Christ was born and placed in a piece of wooden furniture.
When Christ was tortured he was placed on a cross. A symbol of death.

Life: Feeding Trough.

Death: Cross.

Both made with wood. Both used on a regular basis.
